Discounted Sunglasses FAQ

Orders/General

To place an order find the pair you like the look of. Choose which colour you like the most and the size you want. Then, press “add to cart”. From here, you will be taken to a basket to review your order before checking out. Next, you can choose which payment option you are most familiar with to purchase your goods and let us know where to send those swanky new designer sunglasses, glasses or Goggles to.

If you’re wanting Prescription lenses added, follow the same steps as before. But, before you press “add to cart”, press “buy with prescription”. Then you have a couple of options to pick. If you get stuck, just give us a ring or email and we will be more than happy to help!

Because of our amazing prices and great brands we get this question a lot. And our answer is always the same. Yes! We only sell genuine, 100% authentic designer brands. We only ever buy from authorized sellers so we know they come straight from the brands themselves. Why not take a look at our 5 star Trustpilot rating we've acheived from previous customers? This is where you can read independent reviews left by our customers and hear what they have to say about our service and products.

There are many reasons why we can offer cheap sunglasses and discounted prices on everything. Firstly, we buy from authorized sellers in bulk. Therefore we can dictate what brands and styles we want to get at the best price due to buying in bulk. This also means we aren’t dictated by the brands to sell at the RRP so, we can set prices we deem fair for you. We’re also not on the highstreet so our overheads are lower from the get-go, meaning we don’t have to inflate our prices to cover the roof over our heads like highstreet shops have to. In short, everything we do, we do to make sure you can get the best prices of the best sunglasses and designer eyewear possible.

It happens to the best of us. You place your order and you realise you’ve put the wrong address. Or, you popped the wrong colour into your basket. Whatever your reason either ring us or email us before our cut off time (see our delivery page for information on cut off times).

Delivery and Shipping

We dispatch every order the same day Mon-Fri that is placed within the cut-off time. So, you don’t have to wait long for us to get it out our door. How long it takes to get to you depends on your location and the delivery option you chose. Free UK delivery normally takes 2-3 working days. See more about this on our Delivery Page.

Shipping rates can vary depending on your region and are calculated at checkout.

Depending on what delivery option you have chosen depends on if you can track your order. Once we have a tracking number for your order this will be emailed to the email address you provided to us.

Ordering Prescription Lenses

If the product you want has the “buy with prescription” option, you can add prescription lenses. Click the button and follow the simple steps. If you get stuck, give us an email or a call and we can help you through the process.

We only offer single vision lenses on our website. However, if you would like to have varifocal lenses added email us with your prescription and what product you are looking at. From here we can get a quote for your requirements.

The beauty of our process is that you don’t really need to be able to read your prescription. If you know if you need glasses for reading or distance you’re halfway there. Then just look at the number under the Sph (sphere) column. If this is below -5.00 or above +5.00 select that you have a strong prescription. Anything in between those numbers is not a strong prescription. And that is all you need to let us know before just sending us a photo of your prescription.

If you’re not sure, just email us your prescription and we can work everything out for you.

  • How can I measure my PD?

There are a few ways you can measure your PD:

  • You can try and ask your Optician for this number. Some are happy to do so, some are more reluctant.
  • You can get someone to measure with a ruler from pupil to pupil. Our top tip is to measure from the edge of the pupil rather than the centre.
  • Or, the easiest way is to get your product draw a dot on the lens with a marker pen where your pupil is and send them back to us.

Returns & Refunds

Yes, we offer full and partial refunds in accordance to our returns policy.

First thing to do is to contact us. We will then let you know how to sort out your return.

The easiest way to return your order is to put everything you received back in the box it came in, in its original condition. Quickly write down the reason for your return on your invoice so we can make the return process quicker. Then, send it back to the address in the top left-hand corner of the invoice.

For more info on our returns policy see our returns policy page.

In the very rare case that your order isn’t right in any way, email us with photos and your order number. We can then resolve the issue in the quickest and best way.

Sunglasses FAQ

You can buy sunglasses from many places. Highstreet stores, opticians, fashion retailers and online to name a few, but you need to look and weigh up all the options. You need to make sure that what you buy is genuine. Fake sunglasses can cause irreversible eye health issues. So make sure you know how to spot a fake.

Make sure you know your rights. If you buy online, how do you send them back if they’re wrong? Also, make sure you’re not paying over the odds. Nobody wants to pay more for the same product.

Check out the reviews too. Companies that use independent review websites like TrustPilot cannot create fake reviews. So you know if to trust that company. Being rated 5 stars or over 9.0 on TrustPilot from thousands of previous customers is a good sign that the company sells quality products and has top customer service. A bit like Discounted Sunglasses do.

Obviously, we’re biased and know that everything we sell is genuine, at a fair cheap price and we offer amazing customer service. Read our reviews if you don’t believe us. So we would say, buy sunglasses at Discounted Sunglasses.

We get this question a lot. Many ask what size or style they should buy. As you can tell, this is difficult to suggest to someone over the phone. But, we have a few tips to help you out.

Start with your past sunglasses or your sunglasses inspo. Sticking to shapes you’ve worn before, or what you want to try, will help give you a starting point. If you’ve worn them before, perfect, you know they suit you and what size to look out for. If not, try our face shape guide to see if that shape should suit your face.

Then we would say, think of your price point. Budget yourself. Pick a price you’re happy to spend then see what brands, styles and colours you like for that price. Remember, we offer Free UK shipping so you don’t need to add that to your costs.

Finally, try them on. If that’s buying them from us and sending back the ones you don’t like (we get this a lot, it’s ok to do!) or going to a high street shop, trying them on and then getting them cheaper from us.

The most popular sunglasses brand without a doubt is Ray-Ban. Look at celebrities, people in the street, the majority of the time you’ll see Ray-Ban. That’s why we stock cheap Ray-Ban sunglasses, so you can get the biggest brand at a fair price.

From there it’s hard to judge. Gucci sunglasses are starting to become ever more popular, Oakley sunglasses are huge in sport and Persol sunglasses are popular for those in the know. Plus, Tom Ford sunglasses are becoming more and more popular with celebs and on tv, so that is a trend to keep an eye on.

But it isn’t all about being popular. It’s about finding something you love at a price you can afford. So that’s why we stock the most popular brands and some less popular brands. Brands such as Polaroid who offer styles like those by big brands like Ray-Ban, but at a fraction of the price and with a polarised lens.

To tell which sunglasses suit you, you can look at our Face Shape Guide. This will determine which shapes should suit your face shape. Or, you can stick to shapes you’ve worn before.

If you’re going for a style you’ve never tried before and our face shape guide didn’t help you 100%, just try them on. Order them and try them on at home. If they don’t look great and someone you trust lets you know they’re not the ones for you, you can send them back to us for a refund. Or pop into a highstreet shop if that is easier, then order them much cheaper on our site.

Sunglasses can be tightened. You can also bend the arms once they’re heated up to make them fit your face a bit better. However, we would say, if the sunglasses fit ok, but need a little adjustment, go to an Opticians. Many will offer this service for free or for a small cost. If the sunglasses are way too big, look to see if there is a smaller size which will save having to tighten the sunglasses.
