At this time of year we always see our favourite celebrities escape to the sun and this year we have taken the opportunity to see which sunglasses these celebrities have chosen to wear on their holiday this winter.
Ellie Goulding and Dougie Poynter
McBusted star Dougie Poynter and Ellie Goulding have been inseparable since their relationship became public last spring. The couple have been enjoying some quality time together in Miami and celebrating Ellie’s 28th birthday. Here, they were photographed on Sunday afternoon enjoying a casual walk along the harbour after taking a trip on a luxury yacht with some friends.
Ellie Goulding has opted for a boho style here, wearing lace tassel shorts, a simple black vest and a pink scarf. She has protected her eyes with a pair of rectangular style sunglasses. Ellie has an oval shaped face and therefore most sunglass styles will suit her. If you have an oval shaped face it’s important to match your personality to your chosen frame and be bold with your colour choice.
Dougie looked every inch the rocker with his long hair down and his tattoos on full display, wearing a printed shirt, felt hat and Ray-Ban Clubmaster 3016 sunglasses. Dougie has a square shaped face which can be difficult to dress correctly. To soften the lines of a square shaped face, wear a rounder style and choosing a thin frame will also help to balance. The round Clubmaster sunglasses are a perfect style for this face shape and so is the Aviator, Oval and Round style. See our full collection of Ray-Ban sunglasses.
Kristen Stewart and best pal Alicia Cargile celebrated the New Year together in Honolulu and were photographed the following day playing games on the beach. The Twilight star wears untraditional beachwear and shows off her athletic figure in men’s red Y-fronts, a loose vest and a black bra. To protect her eyes Kristen Stewart chose her trusted round style Oliver Peoples O’Malley sunglasses. Like Ellie Goulding, Kristen Stewart has an oval shaped face and therefore most styles will suit her.
Oliver Peoples is a highly influential brand that sells luxury eyewear. They are known for their understated detailing, retro styles and high quality materials. This brand is highly popular among celebrities, including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lawrence and Tom Cruise. Click here to see our collection of low priced Oliver Peoples sunglasses.
The handsome retired footballer Jamie Redknapp showed off his athletic physique in swimming shorts on holiday in Miami, where he enjoyed a family holiday with his wife Louise Redknapp and their sons. The Sky Sports pundit was snapped wearing aviator style Persol 0714 sunglasses. All Persol sunglasses are beautifully hand crafted and this particular model has a folding functionality that is the perfect choice when you’re holidaying. They easily fold down to pocket size making them practical and portable.
Jessica Alba looked incredible as she relaxed on holiday in Mexico with her two children and her husband Cash Warren whom set met whilst filming the Fantastic Four in 2004. The actress works hard and possesses her own business, ‘The Honest Company’, which manufactures ‘effective, safe, eco-friendly, beautiful, convenient and affordable’ products for babies and homes.
On the beach the star wore a geometric print bikini and cat-eye style Quay Livnow sunglasses to protect her eyes from the Mexican sun. Jessica Alba favours the brand Quay Australia and was seen wearing another pair from this brand on the same holiday. Quay Australia is a cool and quirky brand that sells affordable sunglasses.
Her husband Jay Z hinted at a second pregnancy by changing some of his lyrics on tour in Paris back in September and the couple seem to be stirring the pot once again. This photograph of Beyonce buried in the sand has been shown everywhere due to the couple appearing to have created a baby bump in the sand! In this beach photo the hit maker only reveals her face which is covered by a pair of oversized round style sunglasses. The star has an oval shaped face and can therefore wear most styles of sunglasses.
Read our guide to help you choose which sunglasses will suit your face shape. Remember that once you have chosen a suitable style, the top of the frame needs to sit in your eyebrow line; if the sunglasses completely cover your eyebrows then they are too large for your face.
